INSTALL ON ANY FOILBOARD & MAST

Gen2 Foil Drive Systems mount between your mast plate and the board. As foil mast tracks are universal, this means it fit’s any board! Simply use the provided locking T nuts and longer mast bolts. Sandwich your Gen2 Foil Drive between your gear for optimal weight distribution and a clean top board surface.

NEW V2 MOTOR

The redesigned v2 Motor features a sleeker, more hydrodynamic design. With a 10mm extension to the Motor, it now accommodates a motor plug and offers added versatility with customisable Motor Cable lengths.

REMOVABLE CABLES

The v2 Motor Plug allows modularity with a quick and simple connection between your Foil Drive unit and your v2 Motors enabling the ultimate flexibility.

When used in conjunction with the Foil Drive Universal Motor Pods and Mast Adaptors, this motor is compatible with almost any foil mast on the market!

UNIVERSAL MAST ADAPTOR

Now included in all Foil Drive kits

The unique design features a number of six sized “keys” that are to be installed into the front of the adaptor to allow for fitment of all different sizes and shapes of mast. The user will need to fit and test the different keys to find the correct one for their mast and the taper of the position you would like to mount your motor.

Armstrong Performance Mast

The Performance Mast range is a clean-sheet design that takes the Armstrong feeling riders know and love to new heights. Sophisticated engineering and top shelf Toray high modulus carbon give these masts a unique combination of efficiency, stiffness and control at speed.

Collaborating with a team of Americas Cup foil engineers, we set out to develop a high performance mast to take us into the future. Our design goal called for a unique blend of strength, stiffness, drag and light weight. Combining CFD analysis with expert insight allowed us to tune each section of the mast from baseplate to fuselage connection for maximum efficiency.

Structural analysis shows that a combination of both high modulus (HM) and intermediate modulus (IM) carbon fibers best distributes loads throughout various sections of the mast. HM’s stiffness minimizes flex in the mast’s central strut area and IM’s high tensile strength caters to the complex shapes of the top plate and fuselage connection.

The result is a top of the line mast consisting of top shelf materials, new mast section, refined baseplate, reduced drag fuselage connection and new construction method. New proprietary titanium M7 mast top hardware follows suit with a strong and lightweight connection to the board.

These masts are designed with a mast rake angle. This fine tunes the board angle relative to the foil for a more comfortable and forgiving ride. It does not change the lifting force or balance of the foil itself, and it does not impact the foils foot pressure bias front or back. Board rocker also directly determines effective mast rake boards from different brands have a variety of different rocker lines which influence rake angle and more rocker in the rear half of board effectively increases mast rake. The 1 degree of rake weve placed specifically into the top of the Performance Mast shape provides three main benefits by adjusting the board relative to the foil underwater:

Features

• By bringing the foil closer to 0 degrees when the board is in the water, drag is reduced which makes takeoffs easier.
• Touching down at speed or landing a jump is more forgiving and theres less chance of crashing headfirst over the board.
• By lifting the board nose slightly (1 degree = 17.46mm/m), mast rake makes it easier to ride fast without catching the nose at steep riding angles.

SUNOVA x Foil Drive Foilboard

THE FOIL DRIVE is a collaborative board with the legends at Foil Drive.

Designed and tested with the team at Foil Drive, this board was specially created to function with the gen 2 system. With a larger surface area on the bottom, rolled hard edges and minimal rocker this board begins to plane as soon as you press go. But dont let its friendly appearance fool you, it’s an absolute weapon on foil. Specifically designed with a softer deck pad to ensure youre comfortable enough to stay on foil for hours.

Features & Design

• OUTLINE:
• Pulled in nose, parallel mid section, to pulled in tail. The narrower nose and tail help to lay the board over on harder carves without catching a rail. The parallel mid section helps the board track and plane, enabling it to get on foil even quicker.
• RAILS:
• Rolled with hard bottom edges. The rolled rails enable the bottom surface area of the board to be as big as possible, enabling earlier planning and more equal volume distribution. The hard edges help water release more efficiently, reducing drag. They are still tucked enough through the mid-rear section to ensure they dont catch on more radical maneuvers.
• ROCKER:
• Flatter with subtle nose kick. The flatter rocker helps the board to plane quicker with the assistance of the Foil Drive system. There is a subtle tail kick, which helps keep it out of the way when you are pumping up, or taking off.
• BOTTOM:
• Subtle rounded V into flat midsection. The subtle V at the front helps the board on touchdowns, it wont immediately stick and bog. The flat planing surface through the middle allows the board to glide effortlessly with assistance from the foul drive.
• DECK:
• Concave Deck. We have a concave deck to get the rider as close to the foil as possible while maintaining the volume needed. It’s a soft concave without any drastic edges so it doesn’t trap water on the deck after takeoff. The deck line has been pulled right out to the edge of the rail edge, making the usable deck area as large as possible.
